The Executive Director of the Eastern Development Initiative Civil Society Organization, Mr.Girma Tufa, said inclusive community dialogue to strengthen women’s participation in peace building processes will enhance trust and social cohesion among peoples.

Speaking at a stakeholder and community-wide dialogue forum to strengthen women’s participation in peacebuilding processes, the Director General of the Eastern Development Initiative Civil Society Organization, Mr. Girma Tufa, said inclusive community dialogue to strengthen women’s participation in peacebuilding processes will enhance trust and social cohesion among peoples.
He thanked the participants for their participation and appreciation for their participation from day one, saying that you are an ambassador for peace in the area where you live, as we are confident that women can do a lot in conflict resolution and prevention.
After the prayer and inauguration of religious leaders, the Programme Manager of the Eastern Development Initiative Civil Society Organization, Mr. Berhanu Mekonnen, gave an extensive explanation of the stakeholder and community-wide dialogue to strengthen women’s participation in the peacebuilding process.
The participants discussed the challenges and obstacles facing women’s participation in the peacebuilding process.
The participants of the dialogue forum were 02 and 08 Woreda Administration Religious Fathers; Civil Society Organizations from Dire Dawa Administration Sector Offices, 02 and 08 Woreda Administration Justice and Security and Women and Children Coordination, Persons with Disabilities, Women and Youth Peace Ambassadors.
The participants in the dialogue were 50 (fifty), of whom 40 (forty) were women.
